Open Runway

Open Runway an American start-up specialising in customisable women's shoes and handbags.

I was given the opportunity to design the début footwear collection for Open Runway. I also worked on a very small handbag capsule collection.

I worked directly with the founder who was based in Boston MA. I was in charge of identifying key trends, developing a colour pallet that would lend itself to customisable options which meant that colours and patterns would all have to work together as a whole. 

I worked directly with factories in China in order to develop lasts and units that could be interchanged and designed a collection of upper patterns that could also be interchanged in order to give customers a wide range of possibilities to create their own design. 

I also travelled to China where I sourced leathers, materials and accessories and visited the factories to develop the samples for the final collection.
